Special Education taking the hit again, again.....Living in California and having the budget crisis we always seem
to have, I find myself so disappointed. As school districts are trying to minimize parental concerns about the budget cuts
hitting education, I just read our towns newsletter and I am very disappointed. My local school district has chosen to take
budget cuts from Special Education and transportation. They will continue to offer transportation at a cost paid by
parents. I always find the kids who need the most assistance are the ones who have to go without. As a previous teacher, I
don't know how much money I spent over the years, but I know it was a lot - from my own pocket! For those of you who are
teachers and parents, how do you try to off-set these problems? I would love to hear what you are doing to support your child
or your students.
